Astro is a modern framework built around one idea: ship as little JavaScript as possible and let the page do the work. Rather than sending a browser an entire application to boot up before it can show anything (the WordPress-plus-page-builder norm, and the default for most JavaScript frameworks too), Astro renders pages to plain HTML and CSS at build time, then adds interactive JavaScript only to the specific parts of a page that actually need it. For sites that don't need a full CMS behind them, that usually means the fastest possible result, and it shows up directly in Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores, not just in how a site feels to use.

Can I still edit content myself without knowing how to code?
Yes, content can be managed through simple content files or a lightweight CMS connected to the site. It's a different workflow to WordPress, and I'll walk you through it at handover.
